How Ya Doin?
I'm Elijah Bennett!
Welcome to my page where we encourage everyone to take an interest in others, looking at people through my eyes and honestly caring about the answer to this question: "How Ya Doin."
Because I have diverse needs, I communicate in my own way, mostly non-verbally. So, I feel how people are feeling and do my best to make them feel seen, understood and valued.
How Ya Doin is a Movement, A Mission to mobilise every person in New Zealand/Aotearoa to get out and say "How Ya Doin" to your neighbour, your workmate, the person that no one ever sees. And together, we can make a difference and make our nation a better place.
My Book
As the youngest baby ever to be born and survive in New Zealand, I communicate in my own way, mostly non-verbally.
This has given me magical gifts to see and feel what others are feeling.
When you feel invisible, I See You!
This is my story.
Elijah is a people person. He is sensitive to the needs of others.
He is quick to notice when anyone is physically hurt, a bit stressed, angry, or sad.
He offers, without hesitation, a kind word, a hug, prayer, something to try and make things better. I love this about Elijah.
Often, in the busyness of the day, in the task list of what needs to be done, I can forget the importance of the little things that make others feel loved, appreciated, seen and heard. Elijah doesn't need to remember to look after people.
This is who he is.
Many more times over the years I have known Elijah I have benefited from his example – he stops what he is doing, interrupts things even, to greet people, welcome people, make sure that person is feeling ok.
My world would be a better place if I was more like him.

My Song
Sometimes it's hard to put into words, what I see and feel.
So, I had a friend create this song for me.
If you feel what I feel when you hear it, then you also have the same magical gifts that I do!
Feel free do download it and play it LOUD!
